Many of them are foldable or portable making them suitable to travel or as an interim solution for infants who aren't ready to move to a larger crib.
Look for a crib with an air-conditioned mattress, as well as an appropriate cover to protect your baby from staining. You might also want to buy baby-safe accessories such as a blanket or teether.
If you are looking for a longer-term solution cribs are available with conversion kits that allow you to convert them into a toddler bed or cot when the time is right. Anna found the CoZee to be a safe, cozy sleeping place for her baby. She loved that it didn't sway like other models, which meant it didn't wake her at night while she was trying to comfort her baby during feedings. She also liked that the side of the chair was lowered so she didn't have to reach over her partner in order to lift the child out to feed her at night.

The CoZee is available in oak or charcoal and is a stylish addition to any bedroom. It's more of a designer piece than some of the other cribs that we've tried, which look quite utilitarian in comparison. It's also fairly light at 11kg and comes with a carry case so you can take it on vacation or if you're moving home. The only things you'll require are a fitted waterproof sheet and a co-sleeping safety strap. This is a great option for parents who are looking to sleep in a co-sleeping arrangement but don't want to share their own beds or whose partners may have mobility issues, like back problems or arthritis. Our mum testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their child while in the Iora and that it had an option to have a reflux incline which helped reduce gas.
Our moms appreciate that the mattress follows NICE guidelines. They recommend placing the baby in the Moses basket or crib on its own without toys, blankets and pillows. The mattress is also firm and comfortable for the baby and sheets are easy to find. It's not as light as the other cribs for bedside use however it is a good choice if you are looking for something lighter and more portable, think about one of the other options in our list.
